How can i make my Cat poop prooply in the Cat Litter tray?

He either poops on the floor or half in the tray. The other day he pooped in my lil girls wardrobe although he dug out his tray. its driving me nuts
yep a bigger tray with high sides.

Hi there,

When a cat starts a new behavior all of a sudden something might be bothering him. It could be the litter, or the size of the box. Small boxes can present a problem for kitties.

This said, if Your Cat is experiencing discomfort when defecating, he can be associating the box with pain. Cats that are somewhat constipated can miss the box completely. Also cats that are feeling anxious or stressed out can poop outside the box as marking behavior.

If this is recent you would be smart to call your vet and have him checked out. We had a kitty years ago that started pooping on a quilt on my bed. It turned out that he had a condition called megacolon which caused him discomfort. Once he was diagnosed and treated, he rarely used the quilt anymore.

So if changing to a larger box, or a more private location, and using unscented litter, do give your vet a call and make an appointment.
