How easy is it to purchase a lion or other large breed Cat in th UK?
I am not an irresponsible person b4 I get attacked for asking this!
I own nearly 300 acres and IF I decide to go further than thinking would research it 100% and ensure any enclosure built was massive (I hate zoos because the poor animals are so enclosed).
I realise there is LOADS of red tape to go through, but all that aside, just wonder where on earth you would actually go about finding a ’supplier’ of something so exotic, bearing in mind that I would never consider importing an animal as that, again, would be unneccesarily cruel?
Lions live in prides, not as single pets. You can’t keep one and expect it to stay sane or safe to handle.
Lions breed so easily that most zoos had surplus stock in the 1980’s, so put their lions on the pill to prevent overbreeding. Although people used to buy big Cats as pets theres been a lot of bad publicity and dealers are supposed to be more careful who they sell to.
Its still a massive problem in the States.

Until recently you could keep big cats in Ireland.
Please, think again about this. It benefits no one, least of all the animal.
Consider making a donation to somewhere like Marwell Zoo instead, a wildlife project, or an exotic animal resue. Don’t add to the problem.
