Ragdoll Cats Secret Training Tips

As a ragdoll Cat owner I know how hard it can be to train a cat of this breed. Cats in general are difficult to train, and their behavior is often hard to understand. I find myself wondering exactly what my cat is thinking all the time since they’re less expressive than a dog.

I did wind up training my ragdoll cat but it took a whole lot of patience and time. Being consistent is probably the most important thing since repetition is often the best way to learn almost anything, even for us humans. Pets will naturally take a little longer to pick up on something but if you practice the techniques you learn everyday, it won’t take long for them to catch on like mine did.

What I did was picked up a good ragdoll secrets ebook online for a few dollars and it helped me greatly in training my cat. If gave me step by step directions and checklists for exactly what to do and when to do it. As an added bonus I also found some great information about food and health for my cat. All were good tips that I didn’t know before and I was quite surprised at how much information there was and it was all specifically geared towards the ragdoll cat breed and not just cats in general.

Cats need different training methods than dogs since they react to certain sounds and stimulus differently than a dog. For example a water gun is a great tool for training a cat. A dog wouldn’t care less they’ll just happily drink the water and smile at you, but cats absolutely hate getting wet, so it’s a fantastic tool.

Cats also don’t really care for odd, irritating noises so a can filled with coins is another great option. Whenever they start scratching at something just give it a shape and they’ll stop immediately, causing them to stop the behavior altogether over time.
